Finding a job in the Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe and Nara areas isn’t too difficult because of the number of people and industry based there.
Of course the number one job for native English speakers in Japan is teaching English, but there are also other opportunities for educated and skilled workers especially in engineering, sales and tourist sectors.
To enter these job positions you need to have a pretty good level of Japanese ability so having the level 2 or 1 of the JLPT and fluency in Japanese is often a minimum sort of level for work outside the Ekaiwa sector.
