Fine German Dining in Osaka - if you’re missing bangers and mash
Now then, when you think of world cuisine German, like British, food doesn’t immediately spring to mind as noteworthy. However Gasthaus 44 is a cheeky little restaurant in downtown Osaka that offers the best there is in German gastronomy. It is fairly large so you shouldn’t have to wait to get a table, but often the upstairs is closed so during the week it’s best to phone for a reservation.
The a la carte menu offers a good range of German favorites such as sausages, potatoes, various meats, a lack of veg, and a lot of German import beers in massive bottles
Prices are reasonable for the type of restaurant. Expect to pay 4-7000 yen for two diners (depending largely on the amount of beer you consume!).

Location: Take the red Midosuji or blue Yotsubashi line to Hommachi and walk to exit 23. When you reach street level head West for a couple of blocks, turn left then right and you’ll see it because there is a massive German flag hanging outside.
